Serbia uses energy units. The Energy Law established an independent Republic Commis-sion on Energy Network to exercise control over the electrici-ty and gas transmission system operators (TSOs) and enabled Transportgas Srbija's long-awaiting unbundling and certification.
Is the electricity integration package (EIP) transposed in Serbia?
The Electricity Integration Package (EIP) has not been trans-posed in Serbia by the deadline of 31 December 2023, but the progress has been made in amending the Energy Law which is finalised following the public consultation and the Secretariat’s review and submitted to the governmental procedure.
Does Serbia have a national energy and CLI-mate plan (necp)?
Serbia has made the draft National Energy and Cli-mate Plan (NECP) subject to a SEA, successfully completing the process, with consent granted by the Ministry of Environmental Protection on 8 July 2024.
Will Serbia transpose EU Regulation 2022/869?
A timeline for transpos-ing the revised (EU) Regulation 2022/869 is unknown. Serbia adopted its National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP) on 25 July 2024 and informed the Secretariat accordingly. Serbia has not defined the 2030 climate target in its national legislation, but it is set in the NECP.
When will Serbia transpose EU Regulation 347/2013?
Serbia partially transposed the old Regulation (EU) 347/2013 through the amendments to the Energy Law but failed to prog-ress and transpose it entirely within a defined deadline of six months from the law's entry into force. A timeline for transpos-ing the revised (EU) Regulation 2022/869 is unknown.
When will Serbia develop a risk-preparedness plan?
Development of the risk-preparedness plan has not been initi-ated although the deadline of 5 January 2025 is approaching. Serbia submitted the last Security of Supply Statements to the Secretariat in 2022 and is required to update them every two years, in accordance with Article 29 of the Treaty.
